We are excited to announce that v2.7 of Enview Explore has been released. This release contains several new features and bug fixes, and includes one major user experience change we wanted to provide some additional details on.

Previous to v2.7, point clouds that were classified by Explore would be stored under the Projects section. With the release of Enview Explore v2.7, we have retired the concept of Projects and introduced a new concept called Scenes.

Projects have been archived and a new option, Scenes, shows in the menu.

Scenes are a new way to organize and save your work inside of Enview Explore.  Think of a Scene as a working document that includes the layers in your table of contents, the status of layers toggled on/off, and any Stories you have created for your map. Scenes can be saved, and enable you to share your work with others using the Share/Print option in Enview Explore.

Working With Your Old ‘Projects’

When you open Explore v2.7, and click on Scenes, you will probably wonder where all of your previous Projects have disappeared to. Rest assured that we have not deleted any of your hard work, and all of your previously classified point clouds will now be visible under Datasets.

In the screenshot below, you will see multiple Data Types under Datasets (i.e. rasters, point clouds, etc). Any point cloud that was classified by Enview Explore, now shows up under Datasets as a Point Cloud with ENVIEW CLASSIFIED appended to the dataset name. We wanted to make it simple for you to find all of the datasets you have uploaded to Explore in one place. Previously you needed to go to Projects to find your classified point clouds, and Datasets for everything else. Putting all data types together under Datasets simplifies that user experience and makes it easier to know what data has been ingested into Enview Explore.

We recognize this might cause some short term confusion. But we felt the slight learning curve for this change did not outweigh the simplification of the user experience and the benefit Scenes will give you to do more in future releases.

As always, we are here to help. If you have additional questions about this change, or would just like to chat with Enview about how this change affects your work, please do not hesitate to reach out to us at support@enview.com.
